90’s Live at De Montfort Hall Review

A Nostalgic Party Night

90’s Live by Entertainers is a high-energy celebration of one of the most iconic decades in music (as a 1994 baby, these hits were the soundtrack to my childhood). Featuring an impressive setlist of chart-topping hits, this show is a great choice for any 90s music fan. Whether you’re into Britpop, boybands, girl power, or dance anthems, there’s something for everyone which has been organised and categorised into show segments.

The night takes audiences on a journey through the decade, with classic tracks from Oasis, Blur, and Take That sitting alongside pop favourites from the Spice Girls, Peter Andre, and even a fun “Britney break”. Dance lovers will be up on their feet with the Vengaboys’ and Aquas’ infectious party tunes, making for a great mix of genres that keeps the energy pumping.

The show is packed with singalong moments, and while the audience did get involved, the atmosphere wasn’t quite as powerful as in previous years. This, I think, may have been down to it being scheduled on a Thursday night rather than the weekend, which is a bit of a shame as a Friday or Saturday slot would have undoubtedly made for a livelier crowd.

That being said, the performers put on a fantastic show, bringing plenty of enthusiasm and bounce to the stage. The costumes are spot on for the era, with outfits that capture the essence of the 90s. The lighting design also adds to the party vibe, creating an immersive live music experience that transports you straight back to the days of cassette tapes, and Top of the Pops.

If you’re looking for a fun and nostalgic night out, 90’s Live is a great choice. It’s the perfect way to kick-start an evening, whether you’re reliving your youth or just love the music of the era. For those who prefer the 80s, keep an eye out for their sister show, 80’s Live, which delivers all the biggest hits from the decade before.

90’s Live successfully provides a feel-good show packed with throwback tunes, energetic performances, and plenty of nostalgia. While a weekend slot would have boosted the atmosphere, it’s still a fantastic night out for any fan of 90s music… and don’t forget to dress up!
