“Un blog es tan interesante como el interés mostrado en otros”
A blog is only as interesting as the interest you show in others. I knew when I first started this blog that I was here for the community. I was here for the networking. I wasn’t here for the stats. I didn’t have a clue what a DA was, or how important SEO is. I didn’t care about the following and the unfollowing game.
I wanted to support others.
Of course, I hoped in response, others would support me. The world can be a lonely place, more so when you’re sat in one country and every one you ever knew is far off in another. I wanted to be part of something bigger. What’s bigger than the internet these days? In a world full of bloggers, and influencers and vloggers, it’s so easy to get caught up in the game. The idea that numbers matter, the thought that you’re just not good enough.
It’s nice to be noticed.
There are so many amazing bloggers out there, cliche but true. Every time I see a smaller blogger land a collaboration with one of their dream companies or write a piece for a big newspaper or magazine, I could burst with pride. I hope the same would be felt for me if that day should ever happen.
Spread kindness.
I’m all for little things, small gestures that seem to get lost in society. A simple smile as you pass someone in the street, or holding the door open for the person behind you. All these things we should be doing. So, I was thrilled when Steph nominated me for The Liebster Blog Award. The idea is you nominate bloggers with a small follower count afterward. Perfect!
Questions:
-
Do you own a pet, if so, what breed and how old are they?
This is my favourite question. Ask me about my pets and I’ll talk all day. I have three pets, Río, Marley, and Bieber.
Bieber is a goldfish and he’s got to be going on nine years old in August. Not bad for a goldfish! People always find it bizarre that I mention my fish when talking about pets, but unless you’ve sat and stared at your fish swimming around his tank whilst sharing all of your thoughts, then you won’t understand!
Marley is the eldest of my Cavalier King Charles puppies. Marley came into our lives on January 1st, 2017. He is my little bundle of joy. He’s the baby. For years and years, my brother and I droned on and on about wanting a puppy. It took a good ten years, so if you haven’t worn your parents down yet, keep going! Marley is the king of the outdoors. Open the back door, and he’s playing for hours.
Now Río. Where do I start with Río?! He’s a whirlwind. I spend the most time with Río than any other living creature, that includes my fiancé! He’s also a King Charles Cavalier, but slightly younger than Marley. He’s less playful than Marley, he much prefers a cuddle on the sofa!

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging to be part of a bigger community. To feel a part of something. It can get very lonely when you move country and I wanted somewhere to share my experiences.

What quote inspires you?
La vida está hecha de pequeños momentos
I love the little things. This quote is all about how your life is made up of the small things in life. I found this quote outside a bar in Seville in 2014.

-
What is your favourite book?
I have always been an avid reader. My mum used to call me Matilda. She would have to sit outside the library whilst I took out my maximum quota of books, and by the following week, I had finished them all. I like a good book that draws me in. One that I can’t put down. I enjoyed Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, but I think my all-time favourite has to be Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon or Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

What would be the best advice you could give to a new blogger?
Be yourself! Don’t get caught up with numbers!
-
Do you have a favourite blog post of yours?
The Little Things. I loved that I was able to work with a company I truly believe in and I am so happy that I was able to offer some of my readers a free download of the App. I use 1SE every day so writing about it so passionately came so easily. It took me about twenty minutes to write the post. It just came naturally.

If you could give your past self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Don’t get caught up. Don’t worry about what other people think of you. I was bullied on and off throughout my whole schooling. I was told I was too small. Or too weird. Or I had too small boobs. Or my nose wasn’t nice. Or I’m a geek. Or my braces were ugly. All of these things bothered me at the time, but now I’m older they’re things I like about me. They’re things that make me, me. Plus, who’s the one with the straight teeth, living in Spain with a good job now? 😉

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you like to go?
This could take a while. You know, I once laminated my bucket list of places to go? Then I had to add more to it…
If I could only go to one place right now, it’d be Tokyo, Japan. Alex is going to be so shocked when he reads this. My fiance always says he wants to go to Japan, but whenever we book somewhere, we choose where I want to go. Of course, he wants to visit them too, but I get the final say. Plus, I’ve never been to Tokyo Disney Resort!

What do you hope to achieve by the end of 2018?
I hope we’re settled into our new home. I hope we have had some great adventures in 2018. I hope we have more adventures planned for 2019. I hope I passed my modules for my degree with good grades. I hope my blog continues to grow and my content improves. But above all that, I hope we’re stood underneath the castle on New Year’s Eve at Disneyland Paris, watching the midnight fireworks, feeling happy.

Do you have an interesting fact about yourself?
So far, I have visited twelve countries. Here’s to hoping that number continues to increase! Here are just a few of the travel snaps!
Nominations:
So now I nominate Amy at Becoming Mumsy to do the same! I couldn’t think of eleven other new bloggers, so you’ll have to excuse me for bending the rules.
Hasta luego,
