Saturday 20th October 2018 – Day 20 of Blogtober
After what seemed like an endless summer, even for England, the dark mornings and cold nights have finally made an appearance. Autumn has officially arrived, which means a new fashion season is here!
It’s time to adjust our wardrobes accordingly and shop the Autumn Attire Looks and Winter Warmers Trends with Fosse.
Autumn 2018 is bringing a host of new looks and revival trends. Expect to see influences from the Eighties, styled coats, British heritage looks and one of my favourites – the Clueless look. Don’t forget, it’s time to get wild with the animal print too. Which by the way, never goes out of style so stock up whilst you can.
I’ve been thinking about finally being able to wear my Autumn/Winter 2018 range now since around late August. Once the whole thrill of summer has ended, I’m ready to switch up my wardrobe and get into something a little cosier. Also, it marks the end of leg shaving season so let’s all stand and rejoice together.
Whilst I was back in England, I made sure that I took a trip to Fosse Park to spruce up my wardrobe. Shopping just isn’t the same elsewhere, especially in Spain. The shops are a lot less enjoyable. There isn’t the feel-good factor associated with shopping that I get at Fosse elsewhere for me.
You really can get it all there. Plus, the Food Court is that naughty but nice area where you can celebrate your new purchases.
The thing about Autumn, more so than any other time of year, is it’s all about those key, staple pieces. Autumn brings wardrobe pieces that you add to year after year because they serve a purpose. They’re like a trusty friend.
You’ll start with your Autumn pieces and begin to add to them as the season progresses into winter, so it’s worth checking what you already have before heading for a wardrobe replenish.
Saying that it’s also important to check if you need to upgrade and clear some clothes out. That jumper might be cosy and snug, but if it’s bobbled up and starting to look a little tired then it’s time to swap it out. You’ll be wearing them a lot.
Before heading to Fosse, I did a major clear out of my wardrobe I was ready to shop until I dropped. Or as close as. A suitcase cleared out of my wardrobe and dropped to the charity shop – I was ready.
What I’m Wearing Autumn/Winter 2018
During my time at Fosse, I went to my favourite shops, New Look, Primark and Outfit collating the best looks for Autumn/Winter 2018 that fits my lifestyle and personality.
I enjoy spending time with my mum mixing and matching the clothes and looks from different shops. It really brings an outfit to life and adds that touch of authenticity and originality when you’ve mixed and matched as opposed to wore an outfit all from one shop.
As always, shopping at Fosse is so enjoyable. There’s space to move, the clothes are organised and tidy and the whole atmosphere is so much calmer. I really rate the level of cleanliness too. The staff really are an asset to the shopping centre.
My main colour scheme this Autumn is mustard with elements of black and white. I’m also going to be keeping it pretty neutral.
As the colours turn down a notch in the natural world, I’ll be adding that splash of mustard to sprinkle a subtle colour.
Teddy Bear Coats

I never knew I needed a teddy coat until I tried on a Teddy Coat. I have never put on a coat and loved it from the moment it went on. Usually, they’re more a case of functionality and the fact I know I have to wear a coat as opposed to wanting to wear a coat. Well, I want to wear the Teddy Coat from Outfit at Fosse.
The Teddy Coat is a staple item and my biggest purchase. At £69, it was a steal for the sheer quality. It’s the staple item that will be seen the most. A coat hides most outfits, but what hides a coat? Nothing.
Make sure you choose a coat you love that will turn heads as you walk by. I’ve had so many compliments on the Teddy Coat already!
It’s lined with a beautiful pink lining which feels soft and cosy. It’s a beautiful coat that I can’t wait to showcase. You can pick up the same Teddy Coat from TopShop in Outfit at Fosse. Mine is a size 6.
Mustard Mood
There are a few pieces of mustard sneaking into my wardrobe this year.
I am loving the new loose blouses that have arrived in New Look, and the mustard one looks so lovely paired with the mustard and black skirt. I’ll definitely be pairing them with my black boots.

I love my teddy coat, but I wanted to pick up a second coat for those rainy days. Primark does a really good range of coats all at very low prices. But, the ones that caught my eye were the ones that look perfect for packing, which is ideal for Autumn/Winter getaways. Travel is always on my mind.
Packing down into next to nothing in the bag it comes with, the waterproof coats come in a range of colours at just £15. It has a really nice feel to it and the mustard really finishes off the mustard outfits. It’ll be ideal for rainy days!

Following with the mustard mood, I also found a gorgeous mustard jumper from New Look for £9.99! I couldn’t believe how low-priced it was! Most of the jumpers are reaching £20-£25 so I really was surprised. It’s a soft to touch, comfortable jumper with no itchiness!

The one thing I can’t bear is wearing an itchy jumper – so if you’re anything like me, you’ll be running to pick one of these up knowing that comfort was a core selling point. I love the drop down back too, which will be perfectly paired with a pair of leggings or black jeans or a black skirt! Yes, of course, I’m going to wear black boots with them!
Cosy Skirts
Swerving away from trousers this season, I’ve headed full steam ahead to Skirt Central.
Paired with boots, tights, a cosy coat, hat, gloves, scarves and a jumper – skirts are perfect for me to keep that element of femininity and figure.

With all the layering up, I start to feel like I lose my figure and myself amongst it all. Skirts are that little piece that empowers. They highlight the figure and add that flair of femme power, for me.

I was able to find so many stunning skirts in Primark, which were dupes of skirts in New Look and Outfit. Most of them, actually fitting and looking better than the ones in the two shops!
Styling Autumnal T-Shirts
Although the weather is a tad mild for October; I haven’t gone mad yet. T-shirts are an essential item for Autumn! Bare with me.
I couldn’t resist this Amsterdam t-shirt in TopShop for £12. It is a stitched t-shirt of the Amsterdam skyline with a windmill. I love remembering our travel memories and love to incorporate it into my style when I can and this t-shirt was just perfect for it. They also offer a Paris t-shirt which is really cute with the Paris skyline and Eiffel Tower.

It’s made in England and a really soft to touch t-shirt. I love it so much that it was the t-shirt I just had to travel in. It’s perfect for a base layer.
I find that during the autumn/winter months I have so many jumpers but never any autumnal looking tees. Sometimes, especially indoors you just want to take a jumper off or those incredibly itchy ones where you need a t-shirt under but don’t really feel right wearing a crop top or one with palm trees all over!
The Amsterdam t-shirt is that perfect autumnal looking soft t-shirt that will go with everything. I mean, how perfect is it too that I added Amsterdam as my Top 5 Autumnal Travel Destinations the other day too? As much as I’d like it to be – it wasn’t planned!
I also picked up a red t-shirt from New Look that will look great with the pair of black leggings with a red stripe down the side, that I already own.
Wild Animal
Who’s feeling wild this Autumn? Apparently me! The thing about Animal is it always comes back around. Used well, it can and will be timeless. I love a subtle hint of animal – it just spruces up an outfit.
Keeping it simple, I picked up a black and white animal print t-shirt from New Look and an animal print scrunchie.
The t-shirt is that slightly baggy going to look amazing so many different ways style t-shirts. I’m looking forward to pairing it with my black skirt and black midi boots.

I love how the T-shirt can be dressed down with jeans, boots and a coat or styled for going out with a skirt and boots. Perfect Autumn looks!
Check-Mate
A few years ago, I was travelling through Valencia and everything was stolen. My tablet, my camera that I’ve still not been able to replace, money, suitcases, Christmas presents and my clothes.
Strangely enough, alongside the sentimental things, like photos, Christmas presents and of course, the camera. The only piece of clothing I mourned for was a pair of checkered leggings. I’d worn these leggings so often, they were so comfortable and just looked a staple piece.

Well, after we had almost finished at TopShop in Outfit, I had £5 left to spend. Low and behold, there’s one pair of £7 checkered leggings in my size, almost identical to the ones that were stolen. Can I say it’s like fate? I’m so looking forward to being able to pair them with plain jumpers and bold red again.
It’s like everything has done a full circle. I’ve gone from having everything stripped from me to things coming back around. It’s funny how life twists and turns. Or maybe I’m just too sentimental over a pair of leggings. Either way. I love them.
Boots Boots Boots
I mean, who isn’t wearing boots this Autumn/Winter? I know it’s not revolutionary. But, this season, cowboy boots are back with a vengeance and I’m excited. They’re set to be the must-have footwear for Autumn and I managed to pick up these gorgeous brown ankle boots from Primark. They’re super comfy to walk in and will be ideal for autumnal walks.

I also managed to find a striking pair of midi high heeled black boots which look cute paired with a lot of the outfits – but especially the black skirt, Amsterdam tee and teddy coat. They’re definitely show-stopping boots. The best part is they’re easy to walk in and are comfortable to wear.

Let’s Get Accessorising
More is more in Autumn/Winter and the same goes for accessories.
Who doesn’t love picking up new comfy scarves, gloves and hats for the upcoming winter? It’s one of my favourite parts of autumn shopping.

Primark has such a fantastic range of winter accessories in and I really could’ve gone mad! I decided on a neutral scarf, that was a dub of a scarf we saw in Outfit next to my coat, a black bobble hat that really pops the colour of my hair and will match everything and a pair of mustard real leather gloves.
The accessories were incredibly cheap, don’t we just love Primark for this! So you can definitely pick up a range of scarves, hats and gloves to mix it up over the season without feeling guilty!
Gloves: Primark
Pyjamas
Well, there was just no way we can enter the Autumn/Winter seasons without a brand new pair of cosy pyjamas, was there?
When I found a pair of pyjamas, I just knew I had to have. Not only are they Disney, but Lady is a cavalier, just like my two. I can’t wait to cuddle on the sofa with my cavalier watching Disney movies now the weather has that chill in the air.

I also picked up a new pair of memory foam slippers, which are a good dupe of the Ugg brown memory foam slippers. I’m definitely excited for cosy evenings with movies, Yankee candles and snacks. Isn’t that just the definition of Autumn?
I had an amazing time shopping at Fosse again, for comfortable shopping and all of the hottest styles in a clear airy space with plenty of free parking, get yourselves down to Fosse.
We finished our visit off by having a coffee and some treats at Druckers at the Food Court. Shopping and Cakes, it’s always a good time down Fosse, which is why Fosse is my top shopping place in Leicester.
Hasta luego,
I was provided with a gift card from Fosse to complete my shopping!
