I dream of a far off place where the castle towers above the edge of Main Street and you’re greeted with the widest smiles from the cast members.
I’ll be there. A place where I feel like I belong. Surrounded by Disney and the people I love. It’s been a dream to return as an adult and it’s been a long time waiting since our last visit in 2010.
I know some may say it’s cliche. Why would you travel to Disney, a commercialised Park, when the world is out there. I think it’s important to remember that we can feel like we belong in the big wide world, but also feel like we belong in a park where the world we are in is limited only by our own imagination.
We’ll be embarking from Manchester Airport with Virgin Atlantic. It’ll be the first time that Alex and I have taken a long haul flight together. I’ve got my Months until Disney countdown set up in the living room and it’s so satisfying at the end of the month to take it down by one. I cannot wait for it to be converted into ‘Days until Disney’.
I’ve made it no secret that I’m excited to visit the castle once more, it’s so much more exciting knowing that it’s the first time I’ll be heading there with my fiancé. Heading back there with my fairytale.
If I’m honest, I never saw Alex has a “Disney goer”. I thought it would take convincing for us to finally go and if I’m being truly honest I thought it would take a lot longer for us to finally book the trip, but from the very first time it was put forward, he was up for it.
A few weeks ago, a colleague asked Alex what he’s most excited about for summer and I believed he’d say New York. I thought he’d see that as his adventure. His trade off for Disney. But instead, he said Disney.
Looks like he’s as excited to go as I am.
Alex has never been to Florida before so I’m going to make it my mission to make sure he loves it, so we can go back.
I’m already thinking about what to pack in my American Tourister suitcase for Disney. I’m never usually this prepared but I’m so excited for the summer and I just know it’ll come so quickly. I’m very grateful to the brands that I reached out to about our trip who have been keen to send us bits and pieces to try whilst we’re there. We’ve (as in my mum and I!) had some lovely fragrances sent, like Replica, Cloud and Daisy Sunshine. (I’m a massive fan of changing scents each day!). We’ve also had a gorgeous blush gold instax square 6 camera which will be fabulous for taking instax photos by the castle. We’ve had a lovely set of Clarin’s sun-care products too.
I’m thinking about clothes a lot too. This year, I want to strip it back. Casual and Timeless. I’ve invested in a pair of Tommy Hilfiger trainers and sandals and I absolutely love them. I’m going to try and get a bikini, a few t-shirts, a beach dress and a pair of shorts all from Tommy Hilfiger and then perhaps a few bits and pieces to compliment it from the high street. I’m sure that’ll mean another trip to Leicester to do some shopping! I’m definitely going to take my denim skirt from Primark that I featured on my Spring Look Book post as I absolutely love it.
We’re getting closer and closer to Disney everyday. We’re almost there.
Hasta luego,
