Can you believe that 2019 is nearly finished? I most certainly can’t. All of the travel countdowns for 2019 are nothing but a distant memory and an array of photographs. It’s crazy how quickly time flies. But, the good news is it means I can start planning for 2020 travel plans.
If you’re like me and already thinking about your 2020 travel plans, you might want to see the ideas I’ve come up with for our 2020 travel. After all, it’s never too early to start planning a trip.
After writing my 2019 travel bucket last year, I thought it would be perfect to share a new one for 2020. There are my must-see places for 2020. Well, I say they’re must-see, let’s face it, we’ll book one or two of them and the rest will get followed over to the next year!
1. Orlando, Florida
I know, I’ve just come back from Florida. I know I’ve just come back from the sunshine state this summer but I’m already desperate to go back, but this time, a little differently. I really want to spend Christmas 2020 in Disney and see the castle all lit up and the decorations along Main Street.
I absolutely love shopping at the outlets too so if I don’t buy any clothes next year, then I can go on a splurge in the outlets. More Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein, please!
2. Road Trip
Something I’ve frequently looked at recently is a road trip around Easter time with Rio. I’d love to take him to the North of Italy, Switzerland and the villages in Germany. Then, on the way back down I’d love to stop off at a French village or two and Paris. It would be amazing for us to tick off a few more countries and get some beautiful travel content. I’m hoping that I could liaise with a few hotels for a sponsored stay in exchange for a blog post, but I’m not sure if it would be feasible. It would be a super expensive trip, but I’d definitely love to do it. If not in 2020, then definitely in 2021 or 2022. Talk about forward planning.
3. Segovia, Spain
Segovia is a place that I’ve been toying with for a while now, but our car wasn’t to be trusted to drive that distance. Now that we have a car that is reliable, I’d love to nip away to Segovia for the weekend with Alex and Rio. I’m keen to see the beautiful castle there and the aqueduct. It would be lovely to soak up the atmosphere of the traditional Spanish city.
4. Valencia, Spain
It’s time to make amends with Valencia. After being broken into on Christmas Eve in Valencia, it’s always been a bit of a sore subject. But, after 5 years, I think I’m ready to head back as a couple. I have been since with friends, but we haven’t been together. Rio has also never been to Valencia, so I’d like to get some photos of him near the Arts and Science Museum.
5. West Coast, USA
I’m probably being far too optimistic here, but I’d love to spend a few weeks in summer back on the west coast, USA. I loved Anaheim when I visited last and Disneyland is always a solid plan. I’d love to see Las Vegas and Seattle too. I don’t think we could do both USA trips in one year realistically, but it’s a nice thought. Depending on what we feel like, I’m hoping we’ll do either the West Coast of the States or Florida at Christmas. We’ll see how things pan out!
6. London, England
We used to spend most weekends in the capital of England when Alex worked down in the rafting centre, but it must be about 3 years since we last visited! I want to head back to the capital for a weekend and take some photos around the main tourist places. I want to spend more time around Notting Hill too. I’m also very keen to see Wicked on the West End, so I’m keeping my eye out to see if it arrives!
7. Prague, Czechia
Prague is still on my bucket list for 2020. Prague is a lot cheaper to visit than Florida, so if we don’t manage to get to the USA for Christmas 2020, then Prague is definitely somewhere I’d consider. I’d love to see the Christmas market there.
What’s on your 2020 bucket list?
Hasta luego,
